The BibleZon Story

BibleZon Logo

I started my first business in 2008 and have worked on several other ventures since, including a successful medical billing business. I had a good relationship with Jesus Christ but didn’t know much about the teachings of the Catholic Church and at one point, I almost left the church for another denomination. I always wanted to raise my kids Catholic but didn’t know where to start, so I put a pause on all the ventures I was involved with to embark on a faith journey that led me to become a devout Catholic. Soon after re-discovering my faith, I began asking God what type of business he wanted me to do. I started reading the catechism, the life of the saints, church history and the church fathers. I fell in love with my catholic faith and everything started to make sense. While I was studying my faith, I had to carry a lot of books with me which was very uncomfortable and It got me thinking of how to put all these materials together in one place?  I started researching and found an app called laudate. This app had everything and I put all my catholic books away since the app had it all. But there was one problem – too many distractions from text messages, phone calls, emails, the Internet, and I did not feel comfortable taking it to the blessed sacrament or to mass so I went back to the books.  Through all these frustrations, the idea of Biblezon was born.

I began praying and asked the Lord if this was truly was what he wanted me to do and all the signs where positive. I began putting all the resources together and today we have a product and a business. I sold my other business, gave up my other ventures and even sold my house to pursue this project.

Biblezon Corporation is the company that develops and distributes Biblezon Catholic tablets.  As of today we have about 4,000 customers and we are on track to have about 10,000 more by the end of 2016.  It took about a year to put everything together. I feel very good when I get calls from Catholics who tell me how their faith life has improved because of the tablet.

The mission of the company is to create products that will help Catholics to discover, learn and practice their Catholic faith and especially to stay focused on God. What we have really developed is a virtual place for your Catholic faith. Think of it as your prayer room. When you think of spending time with God and your faith, you think of Biblezon. The tablet comes pre-loaded with the Bible, daily readings, catechism, prayers, rosary, liturgy of the hours, encyclopedia, activities, quizzes, games, books and a marketplace to download many Catholic apps. There are no distractions from the secular world. It is secure, safe and holy.  There is no access to Internet browsing or any unholy content but the tablet requires Wi-Fi for periodic updates.  It’s all about your Catholic faith and time with the lord.

I run the company as the CEO and my wife is the Director of Customer Service.  We have a total of 9 employees (4 full-time and 5 part-time). The tablet is manufactured in China and runs on the Android operating system. We also have a team of 8 Board Members who advise me on how to run the business. We were also able to secure some investment from 2 investors. Things are moving on the right track and we hope by the grace of God our mission will be accomplished.

bzon5Tell us about yourself and your company?

My name is Mosongo Osong. I was born and raised in Douala, Cameroon. I attended St. Joseph’s College Sasse and later moved to the United States in 2003. Currently, I live in Allen, Texas with my wife and four children. We are a devout Catholic family and are parishioners of St Marks Catholic Church in Plano, Texas where my kids also attend school. What academic background prepared you to be an entrepreneur today?

I studied Accounting and Business at Brookhaven College and UT Dallas.

At what age did you realize that you had a gift and talent to be an entrepreneur?

I started selling personal items in exchange of money at age 14 and by age 19, I knew I had passion for business and will eventually become an entrepreneur.

What was the reaction of your family when you decided to work for yourself?

Not very supportive in the beginning because of the financial risks involved but my parents trusted me and knew I had the courage and personality to run a business. My wife has been very supportive and works with me in the business.

bzon1When did you realize that you were unto something big?

Before launching the product, I decided to test the market through a pre-order campaign on a crowdfunding platform. The result was amazing as the orders kept coming.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

My story is one of faith, passion and love of the Catholic faith. It started with frustrations from carrying many Catholic books and distractions from using Catholic mobile apps and ended with the creation of a catholic only tablet. Obviously, inspired by the holy spirit so I take no credit.

How do you envision BibleZon growing?

I strongly believe this will become a Catholic household product used in Catholic Churches, Catholic Schools and Catholic Homes. We plan to expand to other markets like Africa, Europe and Latin America.

What do you do in your leisure time?

Praying, meditating, playing Soccer, playing with my children, family movie nights, date nights with my wife, reading Catholic and business books, ministry work at my parish.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Honestly, not sure where I will be or what I will become in 10 years but will love to create more faith based products. Wherever God wants me to be.  He decides.

What is some advice you would offer to those who have a dream but are not sure how to achieve this dream?

Do not be afraid for fear is the enemy of success. Work hard and leave the rest to God. Accept and learn from your mistakes. Mistakes are there to teach us and make us strong.

“Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” ( St Padre Pio)
