Benison is from Mezam Division, North West Province of Cameroon. He is a student at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis, where he is expected to obtain a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) in May 2010. While in law school, Benison has performed many community services. Currently, he volunteers legal services at the Protective Order of Pro Bono Projects, where he assists victims of domestic violence. Also, he serves as a court appointed Guardian ad Litem for Kids Voice of Indiana, where he represents the best interest for kids.
Prior to attending law school, Benison obtained a Masters of Science in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology, concentrating in organic synthesis of biomolecules, and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Chemistry from Henderson State University. While at Georgia Tech., he helped co-found and served as a student advisor for the Initiative for the Development and Education of Africa (GT-IDEA). GT-IDEA is an organization that aims at fostering economic development initiatives in Africa. GT-IDEA has helped train entrepreneurs in different areas of Africa, and engaged in collaborative teaching projects at Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya.
Benison has received several academic awards and recognitions. He is a recipient of the Tech Tower award for academic excellence at Georgia Tech. He is also a Fellow of the Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity (ICLEO).
